Expectations vs Reality For Website Design

Expectations vs Reality For Website Design 1

We people always have a mindset that creating the website for a business is simple and start to image all the animation features and unique functionality to implement on your site. Many factors can delay the launch of the new website and generate extra expenses. Before hiring a web developer for your business ask the basic details like how long it will it take to build a site and why every small business need website . We the TWO ARK BUSINESS SOLUTIONS has great developers to complete your company’s website. Here comes the interesting section about the website:

EXPECTATION vs REALITY

ExpectationI think it’s not going to take much time

We always believe by seeing the ads that they can create a website in under an hour. Sometimes maybe you’ve even heard from your friends in this industry that you can create a website in a day or week. You have the technical savviness to handle the various hosting platforms and Content Management System , you don’t experience any setback for building the website.

RealityEvery Template is tedious

From finding the right domain, color for the website, content, hosting provider, CMS and the template, even the simplest single page website requites a lot of time and decision making to build it. If you are trying to build a custom design choice website your features may be limited by the template which you choose.

Expectation: I do by myself, it’s less cost

Buying a domain and hosting can be less in a range where the agencies may charge more for the development, content, unique features which you asked on your website. Finding the right agency and a trusted person who considers your needs, ideas and put together a functional and engaging website in a timely manner can be difficult. But it’s always not realistic to take control of your online marketing and save money.

Reality: Upcharge, Upcharge for building

Buying a proper hosting of your website is an expensive one, few many think to bu shared hosting due to high in cost. Depending upon the hosting you have to select the right Content Management System or the templates which help to build your website with codes or minimal codes. If you depend totally on plugins certain customized plugins will get activated on your website if you have the premium version. Don’t forget to consider what your time is worth the cost of working with a developer who finishes your websites.

Expectation: I can make it look exactly how I want it to look to the users

By looking at the ads that run on the internet we think building website on WordPress, Wix is super easy. It is just a drag-and-drop functionality method by putting the sections and elements on the required place.

Reality: Template, plugins are limited

Always have this in mind when you started to change the code you end with dreaded “white screen!”. There are few CRMs and plugins that can be edited on the front end of the website through drag-and-drop functionality method. Few plugins have a very limited free version available to implement on your website. The free version which includes simple changes such as color, font, size etc. Some themes have the options to get an upgrade which adds few super cool features on your old theme. In many themes, they may not provide you with unique featured plugins which you need.

Expectation: Backend changes won’t impact my site appearance

Webdesign which means the visual changes which I do at the front end not on the back end. What do I do with my backend? users can’t see my backend therefore it doesn’t affect my website. Right?

Reality: SiteFunction, SEO, user experience all are factors in web design

Each change you make to your sites counts. The plugins, images, content, animation, videos will impact the way that your site performs. Some plugins slow down your site speed, creates errors and gives you false information. Which affects the way Google crawls your site to optimize it to rank on the search engine. Every time the changes which you make on the site hurts SEO ranking and users gets confused on your site. Changing the content or removing keywords, loading plugins your site can impact the way a user flows through your site. Each change which you do on your site should be carefully done and make sure you know all the repercussions a single change on your site before putting it on live. You can change a few things on your site when it’s live by removing few files to increase loading speed, change the content if necessary or adding a new page.

Final Thought

Designing a website comes down to putting in the research to fully understanding and the list of pros and cons in building it. Building a website on your for personal use or blogging is ok but when it comes to the business you should take the right decision with thinking about the time and money. This is an excellent article and a lot of what you have said is true as I have been a web developer/designer for over 8 years and a recent client almost had me giving it up, I resisted this and still continue.

Clients have unrealistic expectations of what is involved in creating their ideal design and most of the time they think we do nothing all day but click a few buttons, as we both know it is a lot more involved than that.

    Keep up the good posts

    Thanks
